![]() Lacie Bond and her horses will be busy this summer with several major events in multiple states on the schedule.It is believed that competitive barrel racing was first held in Texas. In September she will be back in Perry competing in the Georgia Federation State Championships Kate has qualified to compete in the largest youth barrel race in the world in July when the NBHA Youth World finals hosts over 2000 youth form all over the world in Perry, Ga. Jazmin’s run was clean and solid, especially for her limited experience, and placed them just out of the top 10 in the third division.Įven though she fell short of a Josey World Title, Lacie Bond was pleased with her horses and their performance.īoth riders have a busy schedule ahead of them. Lacie Bond broke and trained Jazmin herself and started hauling her to shows last summer.įacing the best of the best in the world of youth barrel racing, Lacie Bond and Satinka made a strong run that would have placed them in the first division had a knocked over barrel not kept their time from counting. Lacie Bond was very proud of her horse Jazmin’s Gold Dust for making the cut considering her age and lack of experience. ![]() Only 15 competitors per division make the finals. Out of the three horses Lacie Bond entered, she made it to the short go finals on Satinka and Jazmin. The nice check and prizes she won are small compared to the feeling of accomplishment she had after making such a long trip and placing against so many fine and experienced riders. Kate not only made the finals, but placed fifth in the fourth division finals short go. Making the finals is an accomplishment for any rider and horse. Kate and her horse OC qualified in the fourth division and sealed their place in the finals.
